What's the right size harness for my dog?
Measure the widest spot around your pupper's girth (I know, icky word). That's behind their front legs and up over their back. Ensure you can fit two fingers under the measuring tape so it's not too tight.
I was excited to purchase the no pull harness as I was hopeful it would make walking my cavoodle more enjoyable as she would be pulling less. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened. While the harness fits well around her girth, it is impossible to adjust the chest straps to be small enough to provide a snug fit. Which means the chest strap hangs loose in front of her, which is very distracting for both the dog and me and does not seem to be providing the restraint it is supposed to provide.
So overall, a very unsatisfactory purchase.
Walking my puppy is so much easier with the harness , he still has a lot to learn but at least he is not pulling as hard as before .
The only thing is unclipping , that’s a bit tricky with a wriggly dog ,I guess in time we both will get used to it .
My parcel arrived safely this morning, super happy with the Sendle delivery guy too! I was so excited to get Ruby’s new harness, I immediately adjusted it to fit her and off we went on our usual walk up to the oval at the end of our street.
From the moment we exited the house, she was calmer. Although we only had a short walk, it was drizzling, it was the calmest walk we’ve done. I’m impressed with both the harness and leash. Hopefully our future walks will be as smooth as this morning.
Our second walk in the afternoon went as smoothly as the first one! Ruby is much calmer and the way the martingale link works is perfect for Ruby. Instead of chasing the birds at the park, she was content to watch them, after one initial lunge, she watched calmly and I was able to praise her for her calm behaviour.
The lease is amazing , I especially love the “double handle” design, with the second loop half way down the lease.
Both very high quality products, well worth the money.
